- Four out of ten Italians among those who give gifts for Father's Day choose Made in Italy food or wine, which is the most popular gift.
This is what emerges from a Coldietti/Ixe survey released on the occasion of the anniversary which is celebrated on March 19th.
"Food and wine specialties and bottles lead the ranking of choices, ahead of clothing, while in third place are technological devices, which precede - notes Coldiretti - spirits, household items, free and music, concert tickets and even flowers and plants ".
On a general level, almost half of those interviewed give a gift (46%) - according to Coldiretti/Ixe' -, among those who give a gift to their father (31%) but also wives and partners who purchase it on behalf of their children (as many as 14%), while 1% also buy something for their grandparents.
The majority of 54%, however, do not give gifts.
The Father's Day trend confirms that the Made in Italy food and wine gift has acquired central importance in recent years on the occasion of celebrations and anniversaries, so much so that, Coldiretti underlines, it has increasingly become the favorite gift for Italians.
The possibilities are not lacking in a country like Italy which, concludes Coldiretti, is a world leader in food and wine with 5450 specialties obtained according to traditional rules continued over time for at least 25 years registered by the Regions, 325 Dop/Igp specialties recognized in community level and 415 Doc/Docg wines.
