With American President Joe Biden "we spoke about the latest developments in the war, including Israel's commitment to achieving all the objectives of the conflict".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this, listing among these objectives "the elimination of Hamas, the release of all our hostages and the promise that Gaza will no longer represent a threat to Israel".

"And this - he added - while providing the humanitarian aid necessary to achieve these objectives".

The conversation between Biden and Netanyahu lasted 45 minutes, the first phone call between the two since February 15.

“Biden told Netanyahu that the Rafah operation would be a mistake.”

This was stated by American National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in a press briefing, underlining that the US president expressed to the Israeli prime minister "his concerns first and foremost for the fate of a million people. Rafah is also an important aid passage point and finally located on the border with Egypt".

Biden asked Netanyahu to send a team to Washington to discuss the Rafah operation.

"A solid compromise has been found" on sanctions against Hamas and the Israeli settlers responsible for the violence in the West Bank.

"The technical work will continue in the next few days but we have a political agreement."

This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrell in a press conference after the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the 27.

"The day new data on the famine in Gaza is released, the Israeli authorities deny my entry into Gaza": says Philippe Lazzarini, the general commissioner of UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, in his account avoided with political will."

The Israeli army has taken control of the Shifa hospital in Gaza City

and called on Hamas members inside to leave and surrender.

The military spokesperson made this known, quoted by the media.

The same source said that so far 80 suspicious people have been "captured by soldiers" and that "some of these have been confirmed as operational terrorists".

The spokesperson then added "that numerous Hamas armed men were killed and wounded in firefights on the hospital grounds".

The army had announced a "high precision" military operation in the hospital facility, the largest in the Palestinian city, following intelligence information about the presence of senior Hamas officials in the medical complex.

According to witnesses, bombings occurred.

In the ongoing operation in the Shifa hospital area, members of Israeli special units have ''eliminated 20 terrorists and captured dozens of suspects who are now being interrogated''.

This was announced by the military spokesman.

During the inspections of the offices, he added, funds intended for Hamas and Islamic Jihad militiamen ''as a reward for their good work'' were found in a safe.

In another office, ''next to that of the director of Shifa'', there were - according to the IDF - ''hand grenades, mortar shells and bullets''.

The Israeli army and the Shin Bet announced that "Faiq Mabhuoch, head of Hamas' internal security operations, was killed" in the operation.

The military spokesperson made this known according to which Mabhuoch was also "responsible for coordinating Hamas' terrorist activities in the Strip".

The senior exponent of the Islamic faction "was eliminated in a clash with the troops while he was armed and hidden in a compound near the Shifa hospital from which he operated and carried out the terrorist activity".

According to Gaza's health ministry, around 30,000 people, including displaced civilians, injured patients and medical staff, are trapped inside the al-Shifa medical complex.

Al Jazeera reports it.

"Anyone who tries to move is targeted by bullets," the ministry wrote on Telegram.

The same ministry launched an appeal to all international organizations to "immediately stop this (Israeli) massacre against the sick, injured, displaced people and medical staff inside al-Shifa hospital".

Al Jazeera reports it.

The displaced people, adds the ministry, are trapped in 2 hospital buildings.

A fire broke out near the gate and cases of suffocation among women and children inside the buildings were reported.

Targeting anyone who approaches windows is another crime against healthcare institutions, the ministry concludes.

UNRWA, 400 workers killed and over 1000 injured in Gaza

"Over 150 UNRWA facilities have been destroyed, 400 workers have been killed and more than 1,000 injured as a result of Israel's war on Gaza. Israel has arrested several agency employees and mistreated them", and this while "a large number of civilians and children continues to die and hunger increases."

This was said by UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini while meeting Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo, to whom he explained the enormous difficulties that the UN agency for Palestinian refugees is encountering in providing aid to the civilian population of the Strip. of Gaza.

Sources Israel: 'The negotiations in Doha will involve Sinwar'

The negotiations in Doha - where an Israeli delegation led by Mossad chief David Barnea is headed - "will involve Sinwar and will last at least two weeks".

An Israeli political source quoted by the media said this.

According to another source, reported by Ynet, the "substance of the negotiation is a 42-day truce in exchange for 40 hostages".

"It will be - it was noted - a long and complex process. There is an external Hamas in Qatar and an internal Hamas in the tunnels, the negotiations are with Sinwar who is in the tunnels".

The delegation received "a clear mandate" from the government which however set "clear red lines" for the negotiation.
