A saleswoman shows us the shelf: “It’s there,” she says, pointing to the blue whale, the white goose and the fox.
At first glance, stuffed animals look like any other.
But they would have a power, that of making babies sleep.
“As soon as we received them in December, we were robbed,” marvels the employee of the Bambinou boutique, in the center of Paris.
Because animals emit “white noises”, the salvation of exhausted parents.
Under their fur, a musical box reproduces the heartbeat and the crash of the waves;
a sound frequency supposed to cover extraneous noises and to be triggered at the slightest cry of infants.
A little anxiety at bedtime, a crisis in the middle of the night and the melody starts up again, broadcasting a “shhh…”, or rather a “shh”.
The price doesn't matter – 42.90 euros – as long as the parents have peace.
“It saves us from getting up,” agree Emma and Jean-Baptiste, 35 years old.
Since his birth, their 18-month-old little boy has fallen asleep to music.
“It calms him down, or so we think... the mother corrects herself.
It's true that with the nanny, he manages to do without it.
