The management of the famous red book praises “a superb selection”.
The Michelin guide unveiled its 2024 rankings on Monday, with 62 establishments promoted (compared to 44 in 2023).
Announced during a ceremony in Tours, where more than 500 French chefs were gathered, the list “testifies, in quality and quantity, to the culinary dynamism of France on the world stage, and not just for its achievements”, Michelin boss Gwendal Poullennec is congratulated.
Two chefs are crowned with a third star, the highest distinction awarded by the guide: they are Jérôme Banctel, from the restaurant “Le Gabriel - La Réserve”, in Paris, and Fabien Ferré, from “La Table du Castellet”, at Castellet (Var), both of which were among the favorites for this supreme award.
Eight new restaurants were awarded two stars, and 52 earned their first.
Among these addresses, 23 opened during the year and, according to inspectors, have already passed the test of “regularity and robustness”.
