The largest urban renewal program in Ramla/Moshe Tzur Architects
The Central District Planning and Construction Committee announced today (Monday) its decision to deposit an urban renewal plan in the Yoseftal neighborhood in Ramla.
This is the largest urban renewal program promoted to date in the city.
The plan initiated by Shikhun Vabinui and Ramla Municipality covers a total area of approximately 163 dunams in the Yoseftal complex to the south, Amichai to the west, Dayan to the north and Borochov to the east.
The program includes 3,670 new housing units that will be built in residential buildings of 8-25 floors.
Out of all the housing units, about 918 housing units will be allocated in favor of small apartments.
In addition to the housing units, the plan includes 32,265 square meters for commercial and employment areas, some of which will be integrated into the new residential buildings, and a 25-story employment tower will be built adjacent to the planned metro station, 37,485 square meters of public areas, and approximately 22 dunams of open space.
Today there are 844 units in the area of the program in about 50 residential buildings, which will be renovated for the benefit of the new project.
The plan emphasizes the improvement of the public space, among other things, through the improvement of the urban road network, the establishment of a system of open spaces that complement the street network, playgrounds, urban squares and walking paths.

The chairman of the Central District Committee, attorney Micha Gedron: "The plan is promoted in full cooperation with the municipality, which accompanies the residents in the social aspect, and carries out close control over the planning process. We hope that within a short time it will be possible to start renewing the residential buildings and the public space in the areas the plan".
Central District Planner at the Planning Administration, Talila Harel: "The Yoseftel plan is one of the most significant renewal plans in the city, both because of its scope and because of its proximity to the future metro station and its contribution to improving the street network. The plan offers a diverse mix of apartments and high-quality public spaces and is in line with the latest planning policy."
The city of Ramla is currently in a development and urban renewal boom, and about 20 programs are being promoted as part of urban renewal that include about 30,000 housing units.
