From 23 March, on the occasion of the Easter solemnities, two prestigious artistic treasures, Correggio's Redeemer and Raphael's tapestry of the Miraculous Fish, will leave the Vatican Museums to reach the Museum Center of Castel Gandolfo, thus inaugurating the new exhibition season of the Papal Palace.
Following the historic exhibition "Castel Gandolfo 1944", which opened its doors last February 10, the Palace further enriches the cultural offer with two new projects which will present two masterpieces from the Pope's Museums. This initiative marks the beginning of a new exhibition format designed to bring the papal collections to CastelGandolfo.
Pilgrims and tourists visiting the Museum Center will be welcomed in the Hall of the Popes by the exhibition "Raphael. The tapestry of the miraculous fishing for the Sistine Chapel" and subsequently, in the new exhibition spaces "Correggio. The Redeemer of the Vatican Museums".
The presentation will be held on Saturday 23 March 2024 at 11.30am at the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo in the presence of Barbara Jatta, director of the Museums, Alessandra Rodolfo, Curator of the Tapestries and Textiles Department and Fabrizio Biferali, curator of the Art of the 15th and 16th Centuries Department.
