Some details may have been missed by some people in the Harry Potter films.

But real fans know what to look out for in books and films.

After more than 20 years, real Harry Potter fans probably know every detail of the films and books and can recite every spell by heart.

However, even after more than two decades, there are still details that surprise even die-hard fans.

These things are hardly noticeable in the films, but are fun facts about the franchise that you should know as a true fan.

Almost recast Harry Potter?

Harry Potter was almost recast in the middle of the franchise.

Actor Daniel Radcliffe's parents initially turned down the role when it was a seven-film deal and filming in Los Angeles.

It was only when they wanted to shoot in England and only planned two films that they agreed.

However, Daniel always assumed that he would not play the role to the end.

He was probably surprised that there were eight films in the end.

Eyes and teeth: Harry and Hermione initially had book-accurate “accessories”

Anyone who has read the “Harry Potter” books and seen the films will have noticed that some character details don't quite match up.

For one thing, Harry has green eyes in the books and blue eyes in the films.

And Hermione actually has large front teeth, although in the films they have a completely normal tooth shape.

Even 20 years later, the Harry Potter franchise surprises with still unknown fun facts.

In the first scene shot from the first film - the farewell at the end of the film at the train station in Hogsmeade - the makers tried colored contact lenses for Daniel Radcliffe and dentures for Emma Watson.

However, both were rejected due to watery eyes and difficulty speaking.

But if you look closely, you can see a few shots in the scene where you can still see the “accessories”.

Actors wanted to play for free

It is well known that JK Rowling wanted an all-British cast for the Harry Potter film adaptation in order to stay true to the books.

Nevertheless, some American actors tried their luck and even offered to work for free as long as they could act.

These actors were Robin Williams and Rosie O'Donnell, but they were still not cast.

Professor Snape in real life

Professor Snape in all his scary presence didn't just pop out of author JK Rowling's head.

In fact, she had a very real inspiration for the character in the form of her former chemistry teacher John Nettleship, who had a similar hairstyle and displayed sternness.

When he found out about it, he was said to be shocked because he didn't think he was "that bad."

Relatives: These family members of actors were seen in the film

The closest relative is of course James and Oliver Phelps, who played the Weasley twins Fred and George and are also twins in real life.

But they aren't the only cast members who had a family member on set.

For Ralph Fiennes, who played the role of Lord Voldemort, it was his nephew who also became part of the franchise.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin played the young Tom Riddle, who later becomes Voldemort, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Additionally, Tom Felton's (Draco Malfoy) grandfather Nigel Anstey played a teacher at the table in the Great Hall in the first Harry Potter film.

There are further relationships between Professor Trelawney actress Emma Thompson, whose sister Sophie Thompson plays the ministry employee in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1” that Hermione transforms into using a polyjuice potion.

Speaking of Hermione: In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Slug Club dinner scene features a boy at the table who looks quite similar to Emma Watson.

That's because it's her brother Alex Watson.

Another connection also exists between the characters Bill Weasley (played by Domhnall Gleeson) and Mad Eye Moody (played by Brendan Gleeson).

The two actors are actually father and son and can also be seen on screen together in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1”.
