Last January, about one hundred thousand people crowded Copenhagen, the capital, to witness the new king, Frederik X (55), alongside his wife Marie (52) and their children.
The King inherited the throne from his 83-year-old mother Margaret, who stunned the nation when she announced her retirement in December - an unprecedented event in 900 years.
At the time, the Danish royal house did not see anyone with the potential to be a particularly great fashionista.
Now it seems that Marie, the incoming queen, has decided to take matters into her own hands and start demonstrating a presence in the fields of fashion as well, so maybe salvation will come from her?

Originally born in Australia, Marie stunned at the Council of State Diner this week, wearing a glittery ensemble that really couldn't be ignored.
The incoming queen chose a maxi skirt with silver sequins, sponsored by the Danish label BY MALENE BIRGER.
A piece from the brand's 2007 collection, with which she was already seen in the same year of its launch, at another event in New York.
Recycling items is an accepted and even welcomed thing among royal women, as the act shows economical and sustainable thinking.
