After the release of the film, the actress already denounced the humiliating attitude of her filming partner Gérard Depardieu, today accused of sexual assault by 15 women.

At the time, no one would have listened to the actress, then 18 years old.
“I was the little devil, “the big bitch” as Maurice Pialat and Gérard Depardieu had nicely said on TV, she recalled in
Vogue
.
And it didn’t shock anyone!
Lots of directors told me afterwards that, at the time, they thought they would never film with me.”
Before adding: “The agreed word was to say: “How she treats her director…” I was not blacklisted but I believe that many were cooled.”

Sophie Marceau nevertheless declared that the director of the feature film, Maurice Pialat, had put water in his wine during filming.

The actress also indicated that her filming partner had transformed into “Mister Hyde” behind the scenes of
Police
.
“It was about who would cause the biggest chaos.
He was very poorly brought up, poorly polite,” she stressed.
“All this under the pretext of laughing…”
The actor would also have been humiliating towards him.
“He didn't rape me or hit me, but he made very inappropriate gestures,” she said.
It was nothing but provocation, humiliation, a seizure of power.
And all this under the pretext of laughing... Afterwards, I no longer wanted to film with him.

And allegedly behaved inappropriately towards certain members of the team.
