A 23-year-old American soldier stationed in Gaeta was hospitalized with a reserved prognosis at the Santa Maria Goretti hospital in Latina after falling from the balcony during a party with some fellow soldiers.
As reported by the local edition of "Il Messaggero", on Wednesday evening the twenty-three year old was in the company of another woman and two men, who had met for a party during which they allegedly drank a lot.
After being transported with multiple fractures to the Dono Svizzero hospital in Formia, her condition worsened and it became necessary to transfer to Santa Maria Goretti, where she is now hospitalized in intensive care.
As reconstructed by the policemen of the Gaeta police station and the American Military Police, the girl, on duty on the US flagship "Mount Whitney", which is based in the Gaeta bay, fell from a window on the third or fourth floor, with several roofs of the building which cushioned his fall and probably saved his life.
Two comrades who had come down to throw away the garbage found her bleeding in front of the door.
The doctors detected a very high blood alcohol level in her blood.
