This is how you turn the Apple iPod into a hair clip/tiktok

The Apple iPod has become a fashionable hair accessory overnight and there is no better example than this to illustrate how old we are.

The Apple iPod was first released in 2005, yes, almost two decades ago.

It was our innovative music player, which served as a compact replacement for the MP3 players of the time (which replaced the Walkman).

It disappeared over the years when in 2017, with the rise in popularity of streaming services, it completely fell out of use and they stopped producing it.

If you have it left somewhere in your closet, maybe you should adopt it as part of the new trend - in which network stars use it as a hair clip.

the truth?

It doesn't look bad at all.

A flood of online influencers are breathing life into the old Apple iPod and officially bringing it back into fashion, even though its use is not for the purpose of listening to music - at least not the main purpose, as some influencers made sure to put it in their hair close to the ear to use it both as a color clip and as a player.

One of the young women who revived the Apple iPod is the tiktok user @sailorkiki who appeared in her video with two Apple iPods on her hair, one green and the other purple.

They are held on her hair thanks to their built-in clips.

"My new and favorite accessory," she wrote alongside the video, which has garnered over 2.2 million views.

In a follow-up video, she added that she attaches it to her ears so that she can also use it as a music player.

Apple's Apple iPod is definitely making a comeback judging by the growing number of videos of influencers using it as a hair accessory.

However, it turns out that already in 2022 it was Elena Kvander who predicted the arrival of the trend after a video released at the beginning of the year of content creator Kira Lyn Vaden using an Apple iPod as a hair clip garnered more than 350,000 likes.

Even then she concluded that it was going to be a hit.

If we go back even further, to 2019, we find a picture of content creator Victoria Camarta with an Apple iPod in her hair, so it's actually a trend that started years ago, but only recently gained momentum on the networks.

On March 13th of this year, user X (ex-Twitter), @voguepearls, posted an image as part of a set titled "Tech as Fashion".

The photo was reposted by fashion influencer Dove Clark, who added the comment: "This would have gone double platinum on Tumblr in 2014."

Clarke's repost has received more than 228,000 likes and versions of the photo have since been shared on major Instagram accounts, including betchys (with 141,000 followers) and structuredmag (with 376,000 followers).

The pop artist Slayyyter also experimented with the successful trend when she wore two second-generation Apple iPods in blue in her hair - with a wire dangling from one ear.

A few days later, on March 17, Instagram and Tiktok content creator Madeleine Witt also posted photos and videos with an orange and blue fourth-generation Apple iPod in her hair.

She wrote in one of her posts: "It's time to raid your parents' random electronics store."

The growing interest in retro-tech has led brands to repurpose old accessories.

Last year, for example, the fashion brand Coperni introduced a wallet that was once used as a CD player.
