The time for the declaration of absence and for the declaration of presumed death is halved: according to the simplification decree which should go to the table of the Council of Ministers on Monday, the presumed legitimate successors and anyone who reasonably believes they have rights over the deceased's assets dependent on his death can ask the court responsible for the absence to be declared one year after the last news (currently there are two).
For the declaration of presumed death, five years will be enough instead of ten.
