"Let's think about how to organize ourselves if there will be an EU commissioner for Defence. If we move towards a European defense system, we can work towards coordination. I am also in favor of Eurobonds to finance European defence".
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this while speaking at the States General of Italy in Brussels.
"We need to start thinking about which Italians can go and occupy these sectors", he underlined.

On European defense "the issue of resources remains: I am in favor of strengthening the defense industry but we must deal with the resources available", said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Brussels at the end of the EU Council.
Among the hypotheses, the one concerning the EIB "finds a lot of consensus but it is an ongoing debate", she added.
"I don't agree with that letter and those wishes, you know my position", says Meloni at the end of the EU council regarding the compliments from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Russian President Putin for his victory in the elections.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this in the press point after the European Council.
"But if Ursula von der Leyen or anyone else, what is the Europe of tomorrow? I think it must be very different from that of today in its relationship with competitiveness, in its approach which must be much less ideological, in its defense of borders, all things that are only being seen in recent months."
On agriculture, he added, "we started with a text that already had our green light with concrete measures, regarding the simplification of agricultural policies and the common fight against competition; for us the reference to the extension of state aid is important and this reference entered the conclusions thanks to our impulse, and I consider it a very important step forward".
