The center of gravity of responsibility in the checks on what happened at the Office for Reporting Suspicious Transactions between 2019 and 2022 increasingly shifts to the national anti-mafia prosecutor's office, once again raising political accusations against the former head of the DNA Cafiero de Raho.
This time it is the commander of the Financial Police Andrea De Gennaro who makes clarifications regarding the contours of the story on the alleged dossiers, heard in the parliamentary anti-mafia commission: according to the general, it was he who verified the actions of lieutenant Pasquale Striano - key suspect in the investigation of Perugia - had to be "the one who assigned him the job".
Therefore not the commander of the currency police unit, given that "the person in charge of the so-called 'SOS' anti-mafia group at that time was the deputy anti-mafia prosecutor Antonio Laudati" (also under investigation).
And the fact that the financier, at the time in the DNA force, had made thousands of accesses from the tax police systems, given that before September 2022 he "physically could not do it elsewhere", is not valid.

Words that fuel the incandescent climate in the parliamentary commission with the vice president of the commission, the Forzista Mauro D'Attis, who directly calls de Raho into question.
"If the lieutenant responded to the deputy prosecutor Laudati - this is D'Attis' reasoning - it is enough to read the recent statements of the magistrate, who said that he in turn responded to de Raho. In short, it goes without saying that, based on the information given in commission and from the statements of Laudati's lawyer, Striano responded to de Raho".
Before listening to De Gennaro, President Chiara Colosimo had been forced to make a clarification after the words of the new member, Senator Gasparri, who had complained about "a conflict of interest" of the vice-president of the commission Cafiero de Raho, former national anti-mafia prosecutor at time of the facts.
"There is no tool that can make a member say that he cannot participate. I have no powers on the issue", underlined Colosimo.

Meanwhile, some small changes are already arriving: "We are evaluating the possibility of inserting an alert into the currency information system indicating references to politically exposed persons".
