For the position of governor of Lucania it is a three-way electoral competition, with the current governor convinced that he is "ahead" of his opponents.

In Basilicata we will vote for the Regionals on 21 and 22 April, in a test less than 50 days before the European Championships which, after Sardinia and Abruzzo, will update the partial result at two to one, in favor of one of the two coalitions of the early 2024 elections.

In the Palaces of Justice of Potenza and Matera, the deadline for submitting the lists expired at 12pm.

In truth, it went on for several hours because the representatives of some political forces only showed up in the last minutes before the gong, with several moments of tension recorded in particular in the corridors of the Palace of Justice in the city of Sassi.

A chaotic final rush that could have consequences when checking the documentation: in Lucanian political circles there are already whispers of the possibility of excluding at least one of the 13 symbols.

For now, the political analysis can only start from the strength of the 14 lists (seven for both constituencies) presented by the centre-right for the 20 seats in the Lucanian assembly: 13 are destined for the province of Potenza, seven for that of Matera, with one that will be awarded to the gubernatorial candidate who comes in second.

In total there are 258 candidates for the position of councilor.

Separate voting is not permitted.

All the outgoing councilors are on the field: two with Fratelli d'Italia, Cosimo Latronico (Environment) and Alessandro Galella (Agriculture), plus the president of the regional council, Carmine Cicala;

two with the League, Francesco Fanelli (Health and vice-president of the Council) and Dina Sileo (Infrastructures), one with Forza Italia, Michele Casino (Economic Development).

18 of the 20 outgoing directors were also renominated.

Among these, Marcello Pittella, governor of Lucania with the Democratic Party from 2013 to 2018 and now leader of the Potentino for Action, in support of Bardi ("The first polls, says the president of the Region, give us at +11% on the left").

Also running for the outgoing governor are the outgoing councilors Mario Polese and Luca Braia (Italia Viva) in the civic 'Orgoglio Lucano', which also fields Dario De Luca, mayor of Potenza from 2014 to 2019. In the centre-left, head of the list of Basilicata Casa Comune for the province of Potenza will be Angelo Chiorazzo, protagonist of the Lucanian political scene in recent weeks.

Indicated since last autumn by Basilicata Casa Come as a gubernatorial candidate, the founder of the Auxilium cooperative took a step back twice, converging towards the centre-left: the first to support the ophthalmologist Domenico Lacerenza, who later withdrew, the second when he closed the definitive agreement with Marrese (president of the Province of Matera).

And now the centre-left candidate can start an electoral campaign in which he will try to make up for Bardi: "The citizens of Lucania have asked us for a region with more healthcare, more agriculture, more young people, more work, more culture, more infrastructure, more Basilicata" .
