Under the sky of Concarneau (Finistère) which turns slate gray, we can see the “Anemos” from afar.
Its masts peak at 55 meters.
On the docks of the shipyard, between its neighbors "Polarpod", Jean-Louis Étienne's expedition which will travel to the South Pole, and the "Under the Pole" teams, which focus on the deep seabed, this sailboat whose name means wind in Greek is an adventure of another kind: the first cargo boat towed by the power of the wind alone!
Why go back to the basics of navigation?
Simple, if the merchant navy were a country, it would be the tenth emitter of greenhouse gases.
This two-mast which moves without fuel energy reduces these emissions into the atmosphere;
above all, it reduces air pollution, which is critical in large ports;
and drastically reduces the cacophony caused by propellers which disrupts marine life.
