Leberkas and schnitzel are among the classics of Bavarian cuisine.

At Edeka, a customer discovered both ready to cook.

And let out a cry for help.

Munich – When it comes to food, tastes differ.

What one person likes doesn't come to another's plate at all.

This is also the case in supermarkets and discounters with some products.

Especially when it comes to whether it is better to buy fresh ingredients that you can use to conjure up your own meal, or whether you prefer ready-made meals that can be prepared quickly.

An Edeka customer now had a clear opinion - when he saw schnitzel and Leberkas.

Customer finds offer in Edeka supermarket – and sees himself “in danger” because of Leberkas and schnitzel in plastic

He discovered a shelf while shopping in an Edeka store.

This included several offers from Edeka’s own brand “Gut & Günstig”.

Here there was schnitzel made from pork or chicken, as well as Leberkas in the poultry or pork variant.

All “Gut & Günstig” products were wrapped in plastic packaging.

The customer posted a snapshot of the supermarket shelf on Reddit.

For him the matter was clear: “I am in danger.

Please help me.” A less than positive title he wrote about his post.

“Two crimes, one crime scene”: Edeka offer causes double the trouble

And some of the Reddit users who commented on the post were not very enthusiastic about the product selection.

“Leberkas and schnitzel – one crime, two crime scenes.

“We’re dealing with a serial perpetrator,” one joked.

And another user pointed out a small error in his comment.

“Two crimes, one crime scene,” he corrected.

And immediately received a thank you for the “correction”.

“The only thing missing is ready-made meatballs,” said another, who apparently also prefers to enjoy meatballs fresh.

“So much plastic.

Leberkas only from the delicatessen counter, everything else is barbarism,” ranted one user.

“It’s good and cheap,” joked another – based on the name of the Edeka-Leberkas own brand.

“It was good and funny,” countered one user, who apparently saw it differently.

A schnitzel in a Berlin restaurant, on the other hand, was perhaps good, but quite expensive at 43 euros - it left the innkeeper in a hurry to explain.

But there were also some voices who defended the cheap Leberkas and Schnitzel packages at Edeka.

“I actually eat everything,” one user admitted of his preference for ready meals.

“I used to eat them out of the package,” said another.

“There are just people who don’t want/can’t/aren’t allowed to eat pork, I don’t really think that’s a crime,” wrote a user under the post that was posted in the Reddit group “Liver Cheese Crimes”: “Poultry tastes better too. A user then speculated that the creator of the post probably wasn't bothered by chicken schnitzel or poultry liver cheese.

Rather, the Edeka customer could have been concerned with a different detail.

“I think this is about the fact that it is packaged in plastic and therefore not fresh as it should be,” was the assumption.

Whether this interpretation was correct or not ultimately remained an open question.

Meanwhile, a Leberkas recipe recently caused consternation - especially among fellow Bavarians.
