Aldi and Lidl are advertising to customers with a special offer in the same week.

Is there a huge rush to discount stores?

Munich - Long queues in front of discounters are nothing new.

This happened decades ago when new PCs came into stores with all sorts of technical bells and whistles that, from today's perspective, only make people laugh.

If you dare to go to a Lidl special sale, you should bring a sense of adventure with you - and it's best to leave the children at home.

Sometimes the rush at a supermarket is just good for a laugh.

Aldi Nord is selling Enders gas grills from March 27th.

for 299 euros

Now bargain hunters have pricked up their ears again: Aldi Nord has a gas grill from Enders in its brochure from Wednesday (March 27th) for 299 euros.

“It’ll be available at Aldi next week.

What do you say?” asks a user in a Facebook group with more than 160,000 barbecue fans.

He receives dozens of responses in the first hour.

Which are pretty mixed.

“You get what you pay for”: Grill experts have different opinions on Aldi’s offer

Some people advise against the device.

“Never again Enders,” writes one, reporting on his negative experiences.

Another user also collected them: “Mine was junk after four years.

Before that it was always something different.

Never again,” he writes.

“You get what you pay for,” says another griller, not exactly euphorically.

A presumed expert says: “It's better to leave it alone.

It has poor temperature distribution on the grate and gas grill pyrolysis doesn’t work without tuning.”

Others think that you can easily grab the Aldi offer: “Okay for the money”, “Grill ok for a beginner”, “You can’t go wrong”, “Top grill.

A friend of mine has had it for two years” and “I have had it for two years and am very satisfied,” they write.

Lidl also has an entry-level gas grill on offer: from Monday, March 25th for 149 euros

Even if the Aldi price is significantly lower than that of other providers for the device, it is probably advisable not to buy it blindly.

There are more expensive devices on the market that can do more.

As well as cheaper ones from other providers, which are enough for two sausages once a month.

Another user points this out: “It depends on the extent to which you want to grill with it.

A few sausages or steaks are definitely ok every now and then.

But I don’t think you get exactly good quality for 300 euros.”

If you are looking for a cheap gas grill, you could also find it in Aldi's direct competition: Lidl has a gas grill from Grillmeister in its brochure from Monday (March 25th) for 149 euros.

Also an entry-level product.

The fact that two discounters are competing for customers in the barbecue price war in one week shows even more: Comparing is worth it.

And maybe the perfect device can't be found at Aldi or Lidl.

Or is a charcoal grill, which is often available cheaply.

“I fought for one of four two years ago”: Rush for Aldi Nord offer?

There is another potential catch with the Aldi offer: If you don't try it online but at an Aldi branch, you could come away empty-handed.

“So I fought for one of four two years ago.

Of course in the morning, waiting in line in front of the closed shop,” reports a user in a

While another says that they spend ages waiting for buyers in the middle aisle.

Another said: "It's being advertised like sour beer again, only to have to fight with 50 people in line over exactly two copies." An alleged supermarket boss recently explained which product he made big money with.
