"It is our duty to preserve
the memory of the Fosse Ardeatine massacre with the killing of 335 people by the Nazis and which represents one of the darkest pages in our history.
What happened on 24 March 1944 is a horror in the face of which we we can only bow, trusting and working so that such an atrocity can never happen again."
