“Both the Prince and Princess have been extremely touched by the messages of sympathy sent by people from across the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world,” it read.
The Prince and Princess of Wales also said they were “grateful for [the public’s] understanding of their request for privacy at this time”.
All these messages come after the numerous speculations which had circulated in recent months on the state of health of Kate.
The mother of George, Charlotte and Harry, notably posted a fake photo at the beginning of March, further igniting the situation.
Some fans believe in a divorce from Prince William, others in a hidden cosmetic operation or even a concealed death.
Since the announcement of the illness, many have made their mea culpa and apologized to the princess.
