"There is no evidence that Ukraine was behind the attack on Moscow."
Through the words of Vice President Kamala Harris and the American National Security Council, the United States insists on excluding Kiev being in any way involved in the Crocus City Hall massacre, as the Kremlin continues to maintain.
At the same time, despite the anti-terrorism warnings ignored by Vladimir Putin, the White House has lent a hand to Russia in the fight against jihadist terrorism, a "common enemy".
"What we know for sure is that the only person responsible for the attack is ISIS
-K", said Biden's number two in an interview with ABC news, reiterating the concept expressed a few hours earlier by the spokesperson of the Council for national security, Adrienne Watson.
"ISIS is solely responsible for this attack, there was no involvement of Ukraine. In any way," the White House official said in a post on X.
Immediately after the massacre, another council spokesman, John Kirby, was quick to exclude that Ukraine had played any role in the concert massacre and to underline that Washington "never encouraged" Volodymyr Zelensky's forces to strike in Russian territory "nor did he ever help them do so".
The US National Security Council also reiterated that Washington had warned the Kremlin of an imminent risk.
“Earlier this month, the US government had information about a plan for a terrorist attack in Moscow, potentially targeting large gatherings, such as concerts.”
This, Watson recalled, "prompted the State Department to issue an alert to Americans in Russia and share this information with Russian authorities in accordance with our long-standing 'duty to warn' policy."
On this point, the back and forth between the two super powers is not destined to abate, despite the olive branch offered by the American administration which underlined
the collaboration in the fight against Islamic terrorism, "which must be defeated everywhere in the world" , does not fail regardless of other scenarios
.
The Russian ambassador in Washington has, in fact, flatly denied having received a communication
from the Biden administration about a possible attack.
"We have not received any notification or message in advance," Anatoly Antonov told Russian news agency Ria Novosti, adding that he "had no contact with either the White House or the State Department on this issue."
Not only that, the ambassador accused the American president of having interrupted collaboration with Russia in the war against terrorists despite the fact that after September 11, 2001, "Vladimir Putin was the first to reach out to the Americans and declare himself ready to provide help "Contacts between the United States and the Russian Federation in the fight against terrorism were destroyed through no fault of Moscow."
