Tips from a Michelin-starred chef for making puree/"must-miss" system
American chef Tyler Florence, who stars on the Food Network, recently shared his recipe for making creamy and perfect mashed potatoes and he also pointed out what mistakes you should avoid along the way.
The TV chef reveals that the way we boil potatoes is wrong - and that boiling them in water is a mistake.
He told Popsugar: "So what I do with mashed potatoes, since you add cream and butter to them anyway, is to cook them in cream and butter to begin with. After the potatoes are ready, I mash them and add the cream they were cooked in. It turns out amazing."

Preparation:
1. Cut the potatoes into quarters and place them in a large pot.
Add in the cream, milk, thyme, rosemary, sage and bay leaf.
Place on medium heat and boil gently for about 15 to 30 minutes until the potatoes are tender to the touch of a fork.
2. Keep an eye on the temperature and lower the heat if necessary to prevent the cream or milk from burning.
Then drain the potatoes but keep the creamy mixture in the pot.
Be sure to remove the bay leaf from the mixture.
3. Mash the potatoes in your preferred way and carefully add the cream mixture until a smooth and creamy texture is obtained.
Add one tablespoon of butter, one tablespoon of olive oil, one tablespoon of mustard and then season with salt and pepper and mix.
enjoy your meal!
