China has made it clear that it supports a new draft resolution of the UN Security Council on the "immediate" ceasefire in Gaza, a few days after the veto opposed to the similar initiative promoted by the United States.
"China supports this draft resolution and praises Algeria and other Arab countries for their hard work in this regard," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said.
"We hope the Security Council will approve it as soon as possible and send a strong signal for the cessation of hostilities," Lin added in the daily briefing.
