Easter isn't just about family gatherings and tracking down chocolate Easter eggs.

The days are getting longer, allowing more time for outdoor activities.

Many people also use the holidays to immerse themselves in the world of a good book.

They retreat with their book to their favorite reading place.

These can be crime novels that are particularly popular with Norwegians at Easter, or novels that are especially fun during the holidays.

Maybe you are also looking for an Easter book as a gift for children.

In this article we present you a selection of Easter books for all ages.

Historical: “The Women of the Carbonaro Family”

The story of a family that spans over a century is the focus.

Pina, who strives to take control, Anna, who desires to sing, and Maria, who desires leadership.

Three women who have different personalities but are forever linked by family ties.

Her story begins in the late 19th century and takes her from Sicily to Germany.

She tells of the curse of her ancestors, of disappointments and triumphs, of hopes and shattered dreams, of bombs and bee stings.

And of the happiness that has never completely left the women of the Carbonaro family.

A journey from Sicily to Germany.

They tell of an archaic Sicily at the end of the 19th century, of the curse of their ancestors, of miracles, illusions and small triumphs.

About love and violence, about beautiful tailors, charlatans and sad ghosts.

They talk about flying foxes and crows, about Sicily and Germany, about home and being foreign, nights of bombings and bee stings - and about how happiness always found them.

Children's book for Easter: “Three Wishes for the Bunny”

A book about true friendship and prepared for the Easter holidays.

Beautifully illustrated and a lovely story that is fun to discover or read to yourself.

Here you can read why reading aloud strengthens bonds.

Saunders' story is about the value of sharing.

Adorable!

The little bunny has never been allowed to wish for anything, but one day he gets not just one, but three wishes!

Now the little bunny can't make a decision.

So he asks his friends Mouse, Fox and Bear what they would like.

Selflessly and kindly, he gives away his three wishes to his friends.

Easter crime thriller: “You can’t catch lazy fish”

It's spring in East Frisia.

The series about Rosa, Rudi and Henner has now reached its 11th volume and has written itself into the hearts of East Frisia fans, similar to the titles by Klaus-Peter Wolf.

Told in a relaxed, fluffy manner, the crime thriller is just the right change between family conversations at Easter.

Spring in Neuharlingersiel: At a painting course at the Steffens-Hof, the participants present their favorite picture as a welcome greeting.

Karin Müller has an oil painting from her grandmother's kitchen that is suspiciously reminiscent of Van Gogh.

A copy?

After all, Karin's grandma is not an art collector and certainly not wealthy.

Course leader Conrad is still sure that it is real.

To everyone's horror, Karin is dead the next day. Murdered.

When Conrad dies shortly afterwards, Rosa, Rudi and Henner don't believe it's a coincidence and start to get to the bottom of the matter.
