The European Commission has launched a non-compliance investigation under the provisions of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) on Alphabet's rules regarding "steering" in Google Play and 'self-preferencing' in Google Search, on Apple's rules regarding 'steering' in the App Store and on the choice screen for Safari and on Meta's 'pay or consent' model.
The community executive then launched investigative initiatives relating to Apple's new pricing structure for alternative app stores and Amazon's classification practices on its marketplace.
