Italian fencing completed the job, serving en plein and qualifying all its teams for the Paris Olympic Games, where 16 nations will compete.

A result obtained only by one other country, host France and which, underlines the federation, will allow not only to compete in the team trials of each of the six specialties, but also to have three athletes on the platform in each individual competition.

From 27 July to 4 August, Italy will be represented on the platforms of the "Grand Palais" by 24 fencers, 12 women and 12 men: for 18 it will be double commitment, both individual and in teams, while six will be 'reserve' only for the Team Event.

124 days before the start of the Games, each Italian team and each athlete who will be chosen to compete at an individual level will have the objective of doing the best possible in the general rankings, those which will 'be considered' for the Olympics scoreboard.

As for the teams, in foil, Italy is leading the women's ranking and second in the men's.

In the women's sword, the blues lead, while the swordsmen are second.

In saber, among the men, Italy is fifth and the Italians are sixth.
