The scandal surrounding early childhood supervision is not going away.
Guest of BFMTV, the Minister Delegate in charge of Children, Youth and Families, Sarah El Haïry, announced this Monday the launch of a “major control program” in groups of micro-crèches, to avoid the equivalent of “an Orpea affair” in these establishments.

An announcement which comes after the multiplication of alerts from parents about alleged mistreatment in micro-crèches and the publication, in April, of an alarming report by the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (Igas), commissioned by the government after the death of an 11-month-old baby in a private nursery in Lyon in 2022.

“It’s time for action”
The government's decision comes as the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs and the General Inspectorate of Finance also released its conclusions on possible mistreatment in private and public establishments welcoming young children.
Highly anticipated report, the content of which has not yet been made public.
“The findings are established, the time has now come for action,” insisted Sarah El Haïry on the channel’s microphone continuously.
The delegate minister also declared that she would like a “convergence of the regulatory framework” of micro-crèches with the framework of small crèches to smooth the quality of reception in force in these establishments.
