"I think that the accusations made against Minister Piatendosi are frankly shameful. I think that the minister acted correctly. The inspection access that was ordered by the Ministry of the Interior is not prejudicially aimed at the dissolution: it is a verification that must be carried out. And it is exactly the same measure that would have been used against any other municipality".
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this on the sidelines of the Campobasso initiative for the signing of the Agreement on cohesion and development funds with the Region.
"I return the accusations of using these measures politically to the sender. We have not forced anything. We would have forced it if we had not arranged for inspection access which would have been arranged in the same condition for any other Italian municipality".
Giorgia Meloni thus responds regarding the Bari affair and the inspection ordered by the Ministry of the Interior.
The Interior Ministry commission arrived in the Bari Municipality
The access commission appointed by the Interior Ministry which will have to evaluate any mafia infiltration within the administration arrived this morning at the Municipality of Bari.
The commission is made up of Claudio Sammartino, retired prefect;
Antonio Giannelli, vice prefect;
Pio Giuseppe Stola, major of the Scico of the Financial Police.

A photo appears of the mayor of Bari Antonio Decaro with the sister of the boss Cipriati.
The image was published in the Giornale e della Verità.
"A photo is circulating on social media in which the mayor is arm in arm in May 2023 with the sister of the boss Capriati and a young woman" - writes Il Giornale - explaining that the image, posted on Facebook, had been commented on the virtual bulletin board by Vincent Capriati: "Our stuff".
"7 May 2023: the mayor of Bari De Caro photographed with two women who are respectively the sister and niece of the lifer prison boss Antonio Capriati. True or false?".
