No to further limitations for rentals with driver.

This is what the main associations of the NCC sector are asking for, who today gave rise to a national protest in Rome in which several hundred drivers participated and who sent the reasons for the demonstration in a letter to all the parliamentarians of the Transport Commissions of the Chamber and Senate because "there are over 25 thousand NCC companies and around fifty thousand operators in the sector at risk".

The renters also ask for a meeting with the Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini.

The taxi drivers' unions defined it as an "instrumental protest fueled by the interests of the multinational Uber, which has always been against any form of regulation".

In the same vein, La ConfNoleggio: "Those who demonstrate today against the government regarding transport are not doing so to safeguard rights but against those who operate legally".

The requests from the rental companies refer in particular to "the obligation for NCC carriers to wait an hour between the end of one service and the start of another (the European average is only 5 minutes), the ban on using any form of intermediation (from platforms to travel agencies to health consortia), to the obligation for each traveler to communicate in advance the time and route of the service (with evident damage to privacy) - explains Andrea Romano, president of Muoversì, the new NCC confederation which brings together the main associations in the rental with driver sector.

The Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini will pass three implementing decrees which will have the effect of worsening the already critical situation of non-scheduled local public transport in our cities. They are acts with which Parliament is effectively bypassed."

Romano concludes by underlining the reasons for the protest and the need for a new framework law: "Finally, it should be underlined that these decrees are about to be adopted without any substantial comparison with the NCC category, which in almost all of its associations has abandoned the ministerial table for weeks in the absence of the Minister's will to modify completely unacceptable drafts. From tomorrow we expect the government to listen to us, stopping the Salvini decrees".

Solidarity with the demonstrators was expressed by +Europa.

During the demonstration, a hearse was brought with photos of the minister Matteo Salvini and the Lega deputy, Elena Maccanti.

The photos were later removed.

For the taxi drivers' unions "only a few hundred operators have taken to the streets trying to politicize the conclusion of the sector reform process envisaged by law 12/2019, awaited for more than five years, only because they are refractory to any type of control" .

ConfNoleggio, the national trade association for the protection of the rights and legitimate exercise of NCC operators in their territories of competence, also lasts: "Article 85 4/4-bis of the highway code is the only means to combat and protect our profession from the illegitimate use of NCC titles, imposing sanctions on those who do not respect the rules - explains the president Christopher De Marchis - Those who demonstrate today against the government regarding transport are not doing so to safeguard rights but against those who operate legally ".
