How much do trainees earn?

The training allowance for many trainees is set in collective agreements.

Where no collective agreement applies, the minimum training allowance fought for by the unions applies.

In 2023, in the first year of training, it will be 80 percent of the industry standard remuneration, but at least 620 euros.

This also applies to trainees in state-funded external training.

Numerous users collect simple recipe ideas that consist of just a few inexpensive ingredients such as potatoes, rice or pasta - and write several detailed instructions for the trainees.

“Get a sack of potatoes, a net of onions and a bottle of oil.

Versatile food and can be combined with more unusual ingredients from the leftovers in the pantry in emergencies,” writes one user.

Another user points out cheap promotions at Lidl and Co.: “In addition to all the great recipes and recommendations, I would also recommend rescue bags from 'Too Good To Go', for example, as long as you're not picky.

You can get goods from the day before or, at many bakeries, what was left over that day for around a third of the normal price.”

Trainee shares her financial worries: “Hope you get through the month well”

In addition to lots of tips, the trainee also gets an understanding of her situation: “Hope these tips will help you get through the month well.

“I had completely forgotten/suppressed how I had to starve as a trainee,” writes one user.

“I hope you get through the month well,” another user also wishes.

Some users even offer to donate money via Paypal: “If it helps, I could send a few euros via Paypal.

Hope the situation is rather exceptional.”
