In Gaza "we hope that there will be a ceasefire that will allow the release of the Israeli hostages and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian civilian population. This ceasefire resolution was voted on at the UN, it is the first and this gives us hope and it certainly represents a first positive step forward."
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this on Radio1.
"I hope that the negotiations for the release of the hostages proceed quickly and therefore we can look with more optimism at a less complicated situation which will then progressively lead to peace", he added.
