US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will return to China in April.
Two high-ranking American government officials reported this to Politico.
This is Yellen's second trip to Beijing in a few months, following a visit in July that led to the creation of economic and financial working groups for "substantive and honest discussions" on issues dividing the United States and China.
The mission of the Treasury secretary is a sign that the Biden administration is trying to stabilize the still fragile bilateral relations, put into crisis in the last year by a series of incidents including the Chinese spy balloon, the growing tensions in the Taiwan Strait and the Beijing's increasingly aggressive attitude in the South China Sea.
