It's rare to hear actress Eva Mendes, 50, talk about her relationship with Ryan Gosling.
And she is even more discreet when it comes to her children.
But during an interview for
Today
, the actress indulged in some confidences about her family, and in particular about the way she managed the education of her children and her acting career.

In recent years, Eva Mendes has voluntarily withdrawn from Hollywood to concentrate on the education of her two daughters, Esmeralda (9 years old) and Amalda (7 years old), while Ryan Gosling has continued his career.
“It was like an unspoken agreement between us that said, 'OK, (Ryan) goes to work and so do I.
But I'm going to work from here,'” she confided.

And the 50-year-old actress has no regrets about her decision to stop her career to raise her two daughters.
“It was obvious,” she says.
“I’m so lucky to have taken this time with my kids.”
“So proud of my man”
Eva Mendes took advantage of the interview to praise the work of her husband, with whom they met in 2011 on the set of the film “The Place Beyond The Pines”, their workplace at the time.
“I have never experienced anything like this.
The way he works, his commitment to his profession, the way he wants everything to be as good as possible,” she said.
And despite her absence at the Oscars ceremony, Eva Mendes is an unwavering support of Ryan Gosling.
Last January, when
Rolling Stone
magazine had described her husband as “cringe” (read embarrassing) in July 2022 in his role as Ken, the actress brought out the archive as if to avenge the 43-year-old actor.
“So proud of my man,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Despite all the mocking posts and articles proclaiming #Notmyken, he created this original, hilarious, heartbreaking, now iconic character that took him all the way to the Oscars.
I am beyond proud to be Ken’s Barbie.”
