Chinese state-owned CRRC train maker Qingdao withdrew from a tender in Bulgaria it wanted to participate in, after the European Commission announced in mid-February its first in-depth investigation into the potentially market-distorting role of foreign subsidies.
"In just a few weeks, our first investigation under the regulation on foreign subsidies has already yielded results - comments Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton in a note -. Our single market is open to companies that are truly competitive and act fairly".
