Last weekend, the British royal family shook Britain and the rest of the world, after Princess
Kate Middleton
revealed in a special statement that she had cancer.
The disclosure of the disease came after the princess underwent a mysterious operation on her stomach in January, which started a flurry of rumors and a host of conspiracy theories concerning her and her medical and family situation.
According to reports on overseas gossip sites,
Prince William
and Kate decided to go on a family vacation to get away from it all, and flew last Saturday to their vacation home in Norfolk, England.
The family will spend the children's school holidays over Easter at the Royal Family's family property, and will be absent from the traditional ceremony attended by the Royal Family at St George's Chapel.
Middleton did not elaborate on the type of cancer she had, but shared in a statement that she was undergoing "preventive" chemotherapy trips.
The princess also said that the discovery of the disease was a "complete shock" for them and that they are doing everything to manage the situation privately.
According to speculations, the reason it took the palace so long to reveal Kate's illness is because they waited until William and Kate told their young children about the illness: "It took us a while to explain everything to
George
,
Charlotte
and
Louis
, in the way that suited them. , and to assure them that I will be fine," she said.
