The Council of Ministers approved the national register for the fostering of minors.
Until now, the law for children in foster care provided for the obligation of public or private care institutions and family-type communities to send the list of all minors placed with the public prosecutor at the local juvenile court every six months. indication of the place of residence of the parents, the relationships with the family and the psychophysical conditions of the minor himself.
The Public Prosecutor then sent an information report every six months and could carry out inspections in the institutions to ascertain the possible state of abandonment of minors.
With the new provisions on the protection of minors in foster care, signed by the Ministers for the Family Eugenia Roccella and of Justice Carlo Nordio, approved today by the Council of Ministers, a National Register and Observatory will be established in the Department for Family Policies and there will also be a register in every Court, both of minors and ordinary ones.
