The two local police officers in Bari involved in the investigation which last 26 February led to the execution of 130 precautionary measures were fired.
They had already been suspended on February 29th.
According to what emerged from the investigations, which revealed alleged episodes of political-mafia exchange voting in the 2019 elections, the police officers would have asked for help from a loyalist of the Parisi mafia clan, Fabio Fiore (former driver of the Japigia boss 'Savinuccio'), to punish a person who, after ignoring a red light, would have insulted them.
Among the arrested people are the former city councilor Carmen Lorusso (she resigned after the arrest) and her husband Giacomo Olivieri, former regional councilor.
