Homemade gifts are not just a highlight at Easter.
How about a DIY Easter basket made from an empty milk carton?
Easter is just around the corner and that always means: craft time!
If you want to make the Easter basket for the children (or dad, aunt or grandpa...) a little more creative this year or are still looking for a sweet DIY gift for Easter, you should try milk cartons.
This upcycling idea not only saves money, but is also good for the environment because the milk carton gets a second life instead of just ending up in the trash.
The result is so cute - it's hard to believe there's a drinks carton underneath.
The instructions for this can be found here.
Make an Easter basket out of milk cartons – you need these materials
All you need to make an Easter basket made of milk cartons are a few craft materials:
Empty milk carton (rinsed and dried)
Scissors
Glue stick or hot glue gun
Pens to decorate the Easter basket
Hay or Easter grass to fill

Instructions: How to make a sweet Easter basket out of milk carton
First, separate the top section of the thoroughly rinsed milk carton and set it aside.
Then knead and crumple the lower part vigorously, this will make the printed layer come off more easily.
Remove the top layer with the print.
Then fold the edge over twice.
Then use a pen to draw the face of a rabbit.
Two red dots represent the cheeks.
Then cut out the ears from the upper part of the milk carton that you previously set aside.
Here you can separate the two layers of the packaging and glue the ears together so that the brown layer faces outwards on both sides.
This gives the ears more stability and makes it easier to stick them to the Easter basket.
Now attach the ears to the back of the Easter nest with glue - tip: hot glue holds particularly well.
Now the cute Easter nest is ready.
It can be lined with some hay and then filled with eggs, homemade treats and small gifts, such as the best Easter books for children.
Now all you need is a good Easter nest hiding place - the flower bed in the garden is a good place to hide.

Also a nice gift idea as a flower pot
For those who don't have a sweet tooth, spring bloomers such as daffodils or hyacinths can find a nice place in it.
Then the milk carton Easter basket turns into a pretty planter.
If the bulb flowers have faded, please do not throw them away - with proper care they will bloom again.
Homemade Easter nests in jars are always a sweet idea as a sweet souvenir for Easter or as a gift for guests.
