, Anne Hathaway opened up about her health and revealed for the first time that she suffered a miscarriage in 2015, before giving birth to her two children, Jonathan (8 years old) and Jack ( 4 years).
“The first time, it didn’t work for me,” she says.

At the time, the actress played, in the theater, the role of a fighter pilot whose unexpected pregnancy suddenly sends her home.
A particularly difficult role for the actress, who “had to give birth on stage every night” and who did not immediately speak publicly about what she was going through.

But after discovering that many of her friends had experienced the same situation and that a study estimated that nearly 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, the actress decided to raise the subject.
“Why do we feel so unnecessarily isolated?
This is where we take damage.
So I decided I was going to talk about it,” said the

actress .
“I wasn’t going to be ashamed of something that seemed statistically normal to me.”
A long struggle with infertility
The 41-year-old actress also struggled with infertility.
In 2019, when announcing her second pregnancy, she openly spoke about her difficulties conceiving.
“For anyone going through the hell of infertility and conception, please know that there was no straight line to either of my pregnancies,” she wrote on Instagram .
“When it went well for me, after being on the side where you have to have the elegance to be happy for someone, I wanted to let my sisters know: 'You don't need to 'always be elegant.
