Easter is just around the corner and you are still missing a gift?
Don't worry, you can quickly make an original Easter basket out of an empty egg carton.
Whether as an Easter nest to hide, as a gift for guests or as a small souvenir: you can make a sweet Easter nest from empty egg cartons in just a few minutes.
Filled with small gifts or chocolate eggs, the magical DIY Easter basket is guaranteed to bring joy and is at least as quick to make as the Easter basket in a glass.

Make a DIY Easter basket out of egg carton – the materials
An Easter nest made of egg cartons is quick to make and makes a sweet souvenir for Easter.

If you want it really quickly, you can of course simply use a colorful egg carton, fill it as you wish and give it as a gift.
Or you can design the box a little more creatively: With this Easter basket idea, the raised elements in the middle of the egg carton are transformed into funny, colorful chickens - a real eye-catcher!
For the Easter nest made of egg carton you will need the following materials:
Egg carton
Paints & brushes (e.g. craft or acrylic paints)
Googly eyes
Construction paper
Glue
some colorful feathers
maybe some Easter grass or hay

First, cut off the lid of the egg carton.
Then paint the lower part as you like and let the whole thing dry thoroughly.
Cut out small beaks and combs from the construction paper.
Then glue these together with the googly eyes in the right position to create funny chickens and roosters.
If you like, you can stick or glue a few funny, colorful feathers to the top of the elevations.
Finally, place some Easter grass or hay in the recesses and fill the Easter nest with painted Easter eggs, sweet treats or other small gifts as desired.
If you want to get creative, put some tulip heads in blown-out eggshells or place small flower and plant pots in the recesses.
Would you rather leave the lid on the egg carton?
No problem - in this case, simply leave out the protruding springs so that they don't break when you close the egg carton.
Wrap some pretty gift ribbon around it and decorate it with a bow – done!
The laundry basket - or even the thoroughly cleaned oven - can be a creative hiding place for the Easter basket in the apartment.
