Let the egg hunt begin!
Knock, knock, knock.
What's at the door?
Easter of course!
And what better way to celebrate this happy holiday than with a sweet treat?
The Easter Bunny is bringing us very special eggs this year, namely sweet puff pastry Easter eggs.
These little works of art made of crispy puff pastry and a delicate vanilla curd filling with juicy peach pieces look like fried eggs and are therefore a real eye-catcher for your Easter buffet.
And who knows, maybe the Easter Bunny will even show up to see your baking skills for himself?
But be warned - he might get jealous!
So, get the recipe and let the Easter magic begin!
That's how it's done:
You need these ingredients:
For the quark and vanilla filling:
150 g cream quark
150 g crème fraîche
2 tbsp sugar
1 pack vanilla sugar
1 tsp lemon zest
3 tbsp vanilla pudding powder
Aside from that:
2 packs (270 g each) of puff pastry on the cooling shelf
Some flour
1 egg, beaten
8 peach halves (canned)
powdered sugar
Preparation is so easy:
For the quark and vanilla filling
: Mix the cream quark, crème fraîche, sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon zest and pudding powder in a bowl.
Cut one of the puff pastries into long strips (approx. 0.5 cm wide).
Twist two of the strips together.
Cut circles out of the other puff pastry.
Spread some flour on a clean wooden board.
Then roll out the circles with a rolling pin to create an oval shape.
Brush the edge with a little egg and attach the puff pastry strips there.
Place about a tablespoon of the filling onto the puff pastry and then position the peaches so that the shape of a fried egg can be seen.
Brush the edge of the puff pastry with egg as well.
Bake for 15 minutes at 200°C.
Finally, dust the finished Easter eggs with powdered sugar and enjoy.
