Timothée Chalamet will play living folk rock legend Bob Dylan in a biopic currently being filmed in New York, producers announced Tuesday.
At 28, the Franco-American is one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood.

The film, by James Mangold, looks back at the beginnings of the singer of “Blowin'in the Wind” or “The Times They Are a-Changin” in New York, up to a concert given with his electric guitar in 1965 at the Newport Fork Festival.
Mangold signed the latest “Indiana Jones”, presented last year in Cannes, or “Le Mans 66”, about the world of car racing, but also “Walk the line”, a biopic on another rocker, Johnny Cash, with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon.

Entitled in English “A complete unknown”, this film is added to the long list of biopics on rock and pop legends, a genre of which cinema is very fond, from “Bohemian Rhapsody” in 2018 on Freddie Mercury to “Elvis” in 2022. “Back to Black”, about Amy Winehouse, is released on April 24 in France, after the February hit of “Bob Marley: One Love”, about the pope of reggae.
A biopic on Michael Jackson, played by his nephew Jaafar Jackson, is also announced for 2025.
These films are often authorized by the star, or her entourage if she is deceased.
