"Security relations between Israel and the United States are strong and will remain so": Defense Minister Yoav Gallant wrote this on X at the end of a visit to Washington in which he met Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and other leaders.
"In those meetings - he continued - I underlined that the eyes of the world are on us and that the results of the war will influence our security future in the decades to come. For this reason we cannot make compromises on the outcome of the war and we do not have the moral right to stop before we have taken back hostages and brought down Hamas."
