"We need to put a cap on foreign students in each class, for their protection and also for the protection of all the other children. If you have many children who speak different languages and don't speak Italian, it's chaos. We need to check the presence of children. 20% of foreign children in a class is also stimulating because you know languages and cultures. But when Italians are 20% of the children in the class, how can a teacher explain?".
The Minister of Transport and secretary of the League Matteo Salvini said this on "Porta a Porta" on Rai 1.
"It is right to explain to children of every ethnicity or religion how wonderful it is to know each other, but we are in Italy. Reciprocity is needed, I don't think that in any Islamic country they close for Easter or Christmas. Until Islam a structure and will not recognize equality between men and women, closing the school seems to me to be a bad sign. It is a sign of giving in and retreating to close for Ramadan."
