"I carry you in my heart" and "I am close to all of you".

The Pope writes this to the Catholics of the Holy Land, in a letter on the occasion of Easter but above all in the difficult moment underway due to the war.

"You are not alone and we will not leave you alone, but we will remain in solidarity with you through prayer and active charity, hoping to be able to return to you soon as pilgrims, to look you in the eyes and embrace you, to break the bread of brotherhood and contemplate those shoots of hope grown by your seeds, sown in pain and cultivated with patience", writes the Pope.

Francis, in the letter, returns to speak of the "useless madness of war".

"In these dark times, in which it seems that the darkness of Good Friday covers your Earth and too many parts of the world disfigured by the useless madness of war, which is always and for everyone a bloody defeat, you are torches lit in the night; you are seeds of good in a land torn apart by conflicts", writes the Pope on the occasion of Easter and to ensure his closeness in this time marked by conflict.

The Pontiff's thoughts are addressed "in particular to those who, in these circumstances, are suffering most painfully from the absurd drama of war, to the children who are denied a future, to those who are crying and in pain, to those who feel anguish and loss".
