An unknown person stabbed the artist Andrea Saltini in the neck inside the church of Sant'Ignazio di Carpi, in the province of Modena, where the 'Gratia Plena' exhibition, by Saltini, is taking place and is at the center of heated controversy as it is considered by some to be blasphemous. A man wearing a mask entered the church and damaged one of the works at the center of the controversy with a knife, also staining it with paint sprayed with a spray can. It seems that Saltini attempted to stop the stranger, who stabbed the artist in the neck, but his condition was not in serious condition. The man fled.
A wig was also found in the church. Saltini, after being injured, was taken to hospital. Digos men and the scientific police immediately intervened on the scene.
