An American teacher who rose to fame starring in a reality series with her twin sister quietly married three years ago - 28 years after she took the world by storm when she was interviewed on Oprah Winfrey's talk show. Oh yes, we forgot to mention that my father and his sister Brittany are both diplescent conjoined twins, meaning they have two heads and one body. They both share one body, and from the waist down, all their organs, including the bowel, bladder, circulatory and reproductive organs, are shared.
Abby and Brittany, one of the few conjoined diploid twins in history to survive infancy, rose to fame on a TLC reality show in 2012 that chronicled their major life events, including graduating high school and finding work.
They also amazed the doctors with their amazing coordination when they learned to play the piano and played sports. In a 2001 interview with Time, the twins' father, Mike, said his daughters had already asked about finding a husband one day. Knowing that other conjoined twins had married, he replied to the idea: "Why not? "They are girls/look good. They are witty. Everything is going well for them in life, except that they are together."
