"In the South, women who work in the National Health Service have to choose between family and career and for the families of white coats there is almost no help. An unacceptable situation which must be remedied." This was reported by the regional secretary of Anaao Assomed Campania Bruno Zuccarelli, on the basis of an investigation produced by the Women's Group of the medical and healthcare management union which sees Dr. Marlene Giugliano as responsible.
"In Italian healthcare facilities we have 220 company nurseries, of which 208 are in the North (23 in Lombardy alone). In Campania - states the union manager - there are only 2 nurseries in 16 hospital companies: Cardarelli and Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Federico II. The Moscati in Avellino had a nursery which was closed with the pandemic and to date the baby parking of the Colli Hospital is closed. A shameful and desolating condition."
