Support for the MeToo wave
“I am proud that the liberation of speech can come from the world of cinema,” François Civil solemnly responded to journalist Stéphane C. Jonathan, asking him about the new French MeToo wave. The actor affirms his support for women and children victims of violence in this environment. He denounces a “systemic problem”, in a world of cinema where fame and power reign supreme over everything, including fundamental values.
“What is happening is extremely positive”
However, François Civil is not one of those who sees the glass half empty. “Listening to the testimonies of Anouk Grinberg or Judith Godrèche, we feel overcome by the thrill of history. What is happening is extremely positive,” he thinks.
