China "strongly opposes" military interactions "between its Taiwan region and the United States." This is the comment of Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, in response to news from Taipei according to which the head of the Navy, Tang Hua, will visit the US next week to participate in a military ceremony and to discuss how to strengthen bilateral naval cooperation while China strengthens its threats towards the rebel island. "We urge the United States to adhere to the 'One China' principle and the three joint communiqués," Lin added.
